Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 American Eagle Gold Coin features Lady Liberty. The front-facing portrait of Lady Liberty, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907, portrays Liberty walking towards the viewer with sun rays in the background. She holds an olive branch in her left hand and a torch in her right, surrounded by a ring of stars. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, 2024, and the ASG signature mark.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2024 Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins showcases an American bald eagle. This design, created in 2020 by Jennie Norris and introduced in mid-2021 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Gold Eagle, displays the head of the eagle in left-profile relief. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 25 DOLLARS, and 1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD.
History
American Gold Eagle Coins are composed of 22-karat gold. The United States Mint employs a unique gold alloy containing gold, silver, and copper. These coins maintain a gold content of 91.67%, with a blend of 5.33% copper and 3% silver. It’s worth noting that before the 1986 introduction of the Gold Eagle, the US Mint hadn’t produced a gold coin this pure since 1834.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
