She is depicted as free and powerful as she walks toward the viewer holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Her figure is surrounded by a total of 50 stars in this design, with one star for each US state.

American bald eagles feature on the reverse of 2020 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins. This design was created specifically for this series in 1986 by Miley Busiek and features a male eagle flying above the nest as a female is perched in the nest next to a young hatchling.
History
American Eagle Gold Coins have been available in the bullion version in every year since the 1986 introduction of the series. The 1/10 oz gold version of the coin holds the highest single-year mintage in the programs history with 2.75 million coins sold in 1999.
