The pig features in the sixth design of the Shengxiao Series on the reverse of 2019 British Lunar Pig 1 oz Silver Coins. In this design, a mother sow is lying on its side as young piglets suckle for food. In the distant background field, there is a small, humble cottage with a stone wall and smoke rising from the chimney into the sky.

History

The Shengxiao Series debuted in 2014 with a design from Wuon-Gean Ho. A British-Chinese artist, Ms. Ho has created all images in the series to date. The 2019 British Lunar Pig Coin is the sixth in the series from the Royal Mint of England, but the Year of the Pig is the 12th and final animal in the Zodiac cycle.
