The obverse design of the 2017 Proof Australian Kookaburra 5 oz Silver Coin features the 1998 right-profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The portrait is the fourth-generation effigy created of Her Majesty since she took the throne. It was created by famed sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2017 Proof Australian Kookaburra 5 oz Silver Coin features the fresh 2017 design in the series. This image features two Kookaburra birds sitting on a wooden fence. An adult and younger bird are featured. Also featured on the reverse of the coin are the year of issue, name of the coin series, along with the weight, purity, and metal content of the coin.
