The baptism of Jesus takes place at the hands of John the Baptist. It is described in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The baptism of Jesus is considered to be one of the five major milestones in the life of Jesus. The other major milestones include the Transfiguration, Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2017 Niue Baptism of Jesus Biblical Series 2 oz Silver Coin features the right-profile effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This profile was designed by Raphael Maklouf in 1984. This portrait was used on British circulation coinage between 1984 and 1997.
Reverse
