Obverse
The obverse side of 2015 Australian Kookaburra Goat Privy 1 oz Silver Coins features the fifth-generation Australian portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. In this right-profile design, Her Majesty is depicted wearing her favorite tiara and is surrounded by various inscriptions. These include Elizabeth II, Australia, 2015, and 1 Dollar.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2015 Australian Kookaburra Goat Privy Silver Coins is the image of a lone kookaburra perched on the stump of a tree in the Outback. Included within the design field is a small circular privy mark. This privy mark has the image of a mountain goat in honor of the Year of the Goat. Inscriptions include The Australian Kookaburra, 1 oz .999 Silver, and 1990-2015 in honor of the 25th anniversary of the series. The entire edge of the design field has a beaded border.
History
Australian Kookaburra Silver Coins debuted in 1990 as the first-ever silver coin from the Perth Mint to offer new designs on the reverse each year. This release combines the popular Kookaburra Silver Coins with the Perth Mints Lunar Series II coins. The Year of the Goat in 2015 marked the 8th in the Lunar Series II collection and honors the gentle, calm goat.
