History

With a 56% approval rate, Michigan finally lifted its recreational cannabis restrictions in 2018. Prior to that, the Great Lake State had legalized the medicinal use of cannabis in 2008. Today, Michigan allows its residents to legally purchase up to 2.5 ounces and to personally cultivate up to 12 plants. However, residents are prohibited from possessing cannabis on any federal lands.
